Installation & Fitment
This 12V caravan roof vent is designed for a standard 14 × 14 inch roof opening. When replacing an existing roof vent, measure the actual roof opening, roof thickness and available mounting area before ordering rather than relying only on the nominal size of the existing vent.
The supplied internal garnish is approximately 150 mm high and is designed to be trimmed to suit the particular roof thickness. The installation manual also specifies that the lid hinge should face towards the front of the vehicle.
Important replacement fitment note: A matching 14 × 14 inch roof opening does not by itself guarantee direct replacement compatibility. Before replacing an existing roof vent, compare the opening, available mounting area, roof thickness, electrical requirements and surrounding clearances.
Important flange sealing note: During installation, the external plastic roof flange should be fully sealed and covered with a suitable compatible sealant, including the exposed flange surface and mounting screw areas. Leaving the plastic flange exposed to weather and UV over time can cause the plastic to become brittle and may result in cracking or breakage. Only use sealants compatible with the plastic flange and the vehicle roof surface.
Important installation note: TRA Australia recommends professional installation by an appropriately licensed installer. Warranty does not cover faults or damage resulting from incorrect installation, including water ingress, electrical damage or damage caused during installation.

The TRA-RVM5000 uses the common 14 × 14 inch opening, but checking the opening, roof thickness, electrical supply and surrounding mounting space first can prevent compatibility problems during installation.
